Winter Edition of Ten Talk

Youth Day

Equine Youth Day at the Capitol had a great turnout again this year. Approximately 100 top youth equine competitors from around the state attended the event. Many youth from GQHYA were invited but unable to attend, but special thanks to Taylor Bevis who did a great job of representing GQHYA!! It was a great day as the youth were recognized, sat in on a legislative session, were treated to lunch by The Varsity and had a very special treat of personally meeting Governor Nathan Deal. He shared that he, too, enjoyed showing cutting horses in the past. The Equine Youth Day at the Capitol came about several years ago because one of GQHA's members, John Clements, saw a need for equine youth competitors to be recognized in a similar way to other "traditional" sports. Thanks, John, for making this a reality!
